The Lebanese army on Sunday condemned 'Israel's' ongoing military attacks in southern Lebanon, saying the operations are preventing the army from fully deploying under an agreement reached between the two sides last month.

In a statement, the army said 'Israeli' forces continue to carry out "attacks and violations" of the existing understandings and international law through the systematic destruction and bulldozing of homes, shelling, and gunfire in several areas across southern Lebanon.

"The continuation of these attacks obstructs the army's full deployment according to current agreements and prevents the return of residents to their villages and towns," the statement said.

The Lebanese military said the ongoing operations undermine efforts to implement the framework agreement and delay the safe return of displaced residents to southern border communities.
