Oman has called on all parties involved to respect international law regarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement from the country’s foreign ministry.

The ministry said Muscat “continues its transparent and neutral cooperation with all parties to restore freedom of navigation in the strait fully in line with international law.”

“The Sultanate of Oman reaffirms its full commitment to its obligations as a State Party to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and calls on all parties to respect international law and act in accordance with it,” the statement said.

The Omani foreign ministry also condemned Houthi rocket threats targeting Saudi Arabia, expressing solidarity with measures taken by Riyadh to protect its sovereignty, security, and stability.

The statement came after Saudi Arabia reported a ballistic missile attack targeting its southern region.

Earlier, Qatar’s foreign ministry also issued a statement condemning the attack and expressing support for Saudi Arabia.
