  • Iran’s Foreign Ministry criticized Senator Lindsey Graham after his sudden death at 71.
  • Tehran accused Graham of supporting aggression and intimidation over his stance toward Iran.

Iran on Monday condemned US Senator Lindsey Graham, describing the longtime lawmaker as a “malicious” figure following his sudden death at the age of 71.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran would not mourn Graham, citing his positions toward Iran and his support for the US-‘Israel’ war on Iran.

“Our people will not mourn a man whose philosophy on life was aggression and intimidation,” Baghaei said.

“He was hot-tempered, and his entire being was malicious,” he added.

Baghaei’s comments came after several Iranian state television anchors welcomed news of Graham’s death during broadcasts on Sunday.

Graham, a Republican senator from South Carolina, was a vocal critic of Tehran and a strong supporter of US military and political pressure against Iran throughout his career.

Iranian officials have repeatedly criticized Graham’s calls for tougher action against Tehran, particularly his backing of US and ‘Israeli’ policies in the region.
