Four people were killed and seven others injured in Ukrainian drone attacks, including three fatalities in the Moscow region, local authorities said Monday.

Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said on Telegram that three people were killed and three others wounded in the village of Pionersky in the Istra district after a drone crashed.

In Solnechnogorsk, two people were injured when another drone struck a residential building, he added.

Vorobyov said Russian air defenses intercepted 81 drones over the Moscow region overnight.

In Russia's Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, a woman was killed after a Ukrainian drone dropped an explosive device on the town of Berezovka.

Two men were also injured in the village of Krenichnoye in a separate drone strike, according to local authorities.

Further south, Stavropol region Governor Vladimir Vladimirov reported a "hostile attack" that sparked a fire in the industrial zone of the village of Vyazniki in the Shpakovsky district. No casualties were reported there.

Ukraine has recently stepped up its drone attacks on Russia, particularly targeting oil infrastructure in an effort to undermine Moscow's ability to finance its war effort.

Meanwhile, Russia continues to launch daily strikes on Ukraine more than four years into the conflict, Europe's deadliest war since World War II, with no diplomatic settlement yet in sight.
