"I was a father and still president of the republic, and I felt as if I were standing before an abyss where the jaguar always leaps toward its goal," Petro wrote. "The goal is nothing more than another opportunity for Colombia and for my daughter who is heading off to her life in her own hands, as the libertarian being and spirit that I have helped to shape and propel forward."
