Four vessels operated by South Korean shipping companies have safely exited the Strait of Hormuz and are now sailing toward their destinations, South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries said on Tuesday.
The ministry added that 18 of the 26 South Korean-operated ships that had been stranded in the Gulf since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East remain in the region.
Earlier, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported that two vessels operated by shipping company HMM, including a very large crude carrier bound for South Korea, successfully passed through the strategic waterway.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a critical global shipping route, with maritime traffic closely monitored amid ongoing regional tensions.
