  • Iran says vessels will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
  • Transit subject to requirements outlined under the US-Iran memorandum of understanding.

Iran’s Strait of Hormuz Authority has announced that ships seeking to pass through the strategic waterway will be permitted to transit during the period covered by the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, provided they meet the required conditions and procedures.

In a statement posted on X, the authority said vessels must comply with the regulations and operational requirements set for passage through the strait.

The announcement comes as attention remains focused on the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important energy transit corridors, following recent diplomatic developments between Washington and Tehran.

Iranian officials have indicated that maritime traffic will continue under the framework established by the memorandum, while maintaining oversight of vessels passing through the waterway.
