Esmail Gerami Moghaddam, chairman of Iran’s National Trust Party, voiced support for Tehran’s negotiating team while expressing deep skepticism toward the United States.

"We all know that the Americans cannot be trusted," Gerami Moghaddam told the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA), arguing that Washington had acted dishonestly during previous negotiations and had harmed Iran under the guise of diplomacy.

Despite those concerns, he said Iran’s leadership had decided to pursue an understanding through negotiations, stressing that no agreement would be reached without the approval of the country's leadership.

Gerami Moghaddam also criticized groups attempting to exploit public sentiment over the talks, saying they were serving the interests of Iran’s adversaries.

The National Trust Party is a reformist political party founded in 2005 by former parliament speaker Mehdi Karroubi.
