A Jewish guest at the Travelodge London Manor House in north London discovered a "Free Palestine" welcome message displayed on his room television upon turning it on.

The incident, which occurred in early June, involved at least one Orthodox Jewish tourist from New York, Sruli Fogel, who was visiting for a wedding.

A video of the message, showing "Welcome Guest – Free Palestine," was recorded and shared by Jewish groups, drawing widespread attention.

Reports indicate that a second visibly Jewish guest in a separate room at the same hotel encountered an identical message.

The hotel is located in an area popular with the local Orthodox Jewish community.

Travelodge launched an internal investigation and reported the matter to the police.

The company conducted checks across its hotels, including a full sweep of the Manor House property, but the message appeared only in the affected room(s).

Despite these efforts, the hotel chain has been unable to determine how or when the message was inputted into the television system or whether it had appeared for prior occupants.

In a statement to The Jerusalem Post, Travelodge confirmed it remains close to concluding its "robust internal investigation" without identifying a responsible party.

Chief Executive Jo Boydell personally contacted the affected guest to express apologies and the company said it emphasizes its “zero-tolerance policy toward antisemitism and discrimination,” according to The Jerusalem Post.

Travelodge has described the incident as antisemitic and announced plans to roll out antisemitism awareness and cultural sensitivity training for staff.
