Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Monday that a memorandum of understanding with the United States marks an important step toward ending hostilities and opening negotiations, but stressed that no final agreement has yet been reached.

“The agreement reached is a significant step towards halting the war and initiating negotiations, and a final agreement has not yet been formalized,” Pezeshkian wrote on X.

He said Iran remains prepared “for all options” and that the government’s priority, “with or without an agreement,” will remain serving the Iranian people.

Pezeshkian described the memorandum as the outcome of “months of discussions and continuous follow-ups,” adding that if implemented properly it could be considered “an honorable document” for the country.
