  • Saudi Arabia has reportedly restricted access to the social media platform UpScrolled, known for pro-Palestinian advocacy content.
  • The platform says it is engaging with Saudi authorities after users reported widespread access disruptions.

Saudi Arabia has blocked access to the fast-growing social media platform UpScrolled, a digital network widely recognized for its pro-Palestinian stance, according to technical reports and user complaints emerging over the past hours.

The restriction has drawn attention across tech and digital rights communities, particularly given the platform’s rapid rise as an alternative to mainstream social networks.

Launched less than a year ago, UpScrolled has attracted more than five million users globally, positioning itself as one of the fastest-growing alternative social platforms in the digital space.

The company was founded by Palestinian-Jordanian-Australian entrepreneur Issam Hijazi, with early support from the incubator Tech For Palestine. The platform gained traction among users seeking alternatives that emphasize freer expression and reduced content restrictions compared to major tech companies.

Its pro-Palestinian orientation has also contributed to its visibility, especially within activist and diaspora communities.

The platform’s management said it is currently engaging with Saudi authorities through official channels following reports of access disruptions inside the Kingdom.

In a statement, the company indicated that it had received technical complaints suggesting users were unable to reach its services, and it is working to determine whether the issue stems from regulatory action or network-level restrictions.
