  • Multiple KFC branches across Amman have reportedly shut down over the past year.
  • Closures include locations in North Hashmi, King Abdullah Street, Jabal Al Hussein and Marka.
  • The company has not publicly commented on the reasons behind the shutdowns.

KFC has reportedly closed several branches across Jordan over the past year, including multiple locations in the capital Amman, according to a source familiar with the company who spoke to Roya.

Among the closures was the KFC branch in the North Hashmi area, which ceased operations in March 2026, the source said.

Another branch located on King Abdullah Street also shut down during the same month, while a separate outlet in the Jabal Al Hussein area is believed to have closed during the early months following October 2023.

A fourth branch in the Marka area reportedly closed around one year ago.

The closures have sparked discussion on social media, with users debating the impact of changing consumer behavior and broader economic conditions on international restaurant chains operating in Jordan.

KFC has not issued an official statement regarding the reported closures, and it remains unclear whether the shutdowns are permanent or temporary.

Jordan has witnessed notable shifts in consumer spending patterns over the past several years, particularly within the restaurant and retail sectors, as businesses continue adapting to evolving market conditions and regional developments.
