A graduate at Allen High School in the US state of Texas was removed from the stage by staff and escorted out by police during the Class of 2026 commencement ceremony after she unfurled a Palestinian flag while receiving her diploma.

The incident occurred on May 22 at Eagle Stadium in Allen, where the district held its graduation for one of the nation’s largest high school classes — nearly 1,772 seniors.

Video footage shows the student proudly holding the flag aloft as she crossed the stage. School staff immediately moved in to seize it; when she resisted, officers intervened and removed her from the venue.

She continued celebrating outside the stadium, still holding the flag, according to the widely shared clip posted to X. .

Allen Independent School District has not issued a public statement on the incident as of May 26.

High school graduation protocols in Texas and across the US commonly prohibit personal props, signs, or non-school flags.

The episode echoes similar flag-related controversies at other US graduations in 2024–2026, where students have used the platform to express views on Gaza and Palestine. No disciplinary action beyond the on-site removal has been reported in this case.
