The United States and Iran reached a preliminary deal “in principle” to open the Strait of Hormuz, according to The New York Times citing a US official.

Iran, under the deal, is committed to disposing its stockpile of highly enriched Uranium.

Tehran will also reportedly clear the mine from the Strait of Hormuz and allow free passage, while the US will lift its naval blockade, allowing the Islamic Republic to also resume its oil sales.

Other nuclear issues will be discussed later after the ceasefire gets extended to 60 days, according to the report.
