The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, on Sunday expressed “deep concern” following a drone strike near the Barakah nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates.
In a post on X, Grossi said the UN nuclear watchdog considers “any military activity threatening nuclear safety unacceptable,” stressing the need to uphold international standards to protect sensitive facilities during conflicts.

He added that UAE authorities informed the agency that radiation levels at the Barakah plant remain within normal limits and confirmed no human injuries were reported following the incident.
