Jordan’s Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan on Wednesday issued an official directive declaring Thursday, April 30, a public holiday.
The decision covers ministries, government departments, public institutions and bodies, public universities, municipalities, joint service councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and fully state-owned companies.
The move comes in celebration of International Workers’ Day, marked annually on May 1, in recognition of the vital role and contributions of workers to Jordan’s development and nation-building.
The directive excludes entities whose operations require continued work, ensuring that critical public services remain uninterrupted throughout the holiday period.
