Saudi Arabia’s vital energy infrastructure has come under a series of attacks targeting production, transport, and refining facilities, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Thursday, citing a ministry source.
The assault on a key pumping station along the East-West pipeline immediately disrupted the supply of roughly 700,000 barrels per day, affecting a critical route for global energy markets in April 2026.
Additional strikes hit major production plants, including Manifa and Khurais, each losing about 300,000 barrels per day, bringing the total reduction in the kingdom’s output to an additional 600,000 barrels daily. Major refineries—including Satorp in Jubail, Ras Tanura, SAMREF, and Riyadh—were also affected, disrupting refined product exports.
The attacks resulted in the death of one industrial security personnel and injuries to seven others working for Saudi energy companies.
The ministry warned that continued assaults, combined with dwindling global reserves, could trigger severe fluctuations in oil markets and pose a serious threat to the global economy and energy security of importing nations.
