  • UAE air defenses actively intercept Iranian ballistic missiles, drones, preventing ground impacts nationwide.

Air defense systems in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait are actively engaging intense waves of Iranian ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.

The simultaneous attacks on Wednesday morning targeted vital civilian and economic infrastructure across both Gulf nations, resulting in significant material damage.

Kuwaiti infrastructure sustains significant damage

The Kuwaiti Armed Forces intercepted 28 Iranian drones during an intense morning assault that began at 8 a.m. local time.

Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, stated that while air defenses successfully downed a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles, several drones breached the defenses and struck their intended targets.

According to the official statement, the drone strikes caused significant material damage to vital oil facilities, power stations, and water desalination plants located in the southern part of the country.

The General Staff of the Army affirmed its full commitment to confronting the "treacherous targeting attempts."

UAE intercepts widespread aerial threats

Concurrently, the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense announced its national air defense systems are actively neutralizing a massive barrage of incoming Iranian threats.

The ministry confirmed the engagement operations involve intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones aimed at the country.

Emirati authorities explicitly clarified to residents that the loud explosions heard in various parts of the country are the direct result of successful mid-air interceptions rather than ground impacts.

Military forces across both the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait remain on high alert, continuously monitoring their respective airspaces to neutralize any further aerial attacks.

Iran claims retaliation for Lavan

Iranian officials confirmed responsibility for the coordinated military strikes on both Gulf nations. Authorities in Tehran stated that the widespread drone and missile barrage was launched in direct retaliation for a previous strike on Lavan Island. Notably, Wednesday's assault marks the very first military strike initiated since a recent ceasefire agreement went into effect
