1 hour ago|US President Donald Trump announced Wednesday morning a two-week ceasefire with Iran, after more than 40 days of a massive regional conflict that spiralled across the entire Middle East.
Trump said that Iran has sent a “workable” 10-point proposal to the US that can be used as a basis to negotiate, and that “almost all” of the various points of “past contention” with Iran have been agreed to.
There is no official version of the 10-point proposal. However, Tasnim News Agency, which is associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, circulated details of Iran’s response:
- A U.S. commitment in principle to guarantee non-aggression
- Continued Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz
- Acceptance of uranium enrichment
- Lifting all primary sanctions
- Lifting all secondary sanctions
- Termination of all UN Security Council resolutions
- Termination of all resolutions by the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors
- Payment of compensation to Iran
- Withdrawal of US forces from the region
- Ending the war on all fronts, including against Hezbollah in Lebanon
