  • Eight killed, 55 wounded in ‘Israel’ strikes across Lebanon, including children.
  • Hezbollah says it carried out 23 attacks on ‘Israel’ targets in one day.

At least eight people were killed and 55 others wounded in a wave of ‘Israel’ air strikes targeting multiple areas across Lebanon, amid escalating hostilities with Hezbollah.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, five people were killed in a strike on the Jnah area in Beirut’s southern suburbs, including a 15-year-old girl and two Sudanese nationals. More than 50 others were wounded, among them eight children.

A separate strike in Ain Saadeh, in Mount Lebanon, killed three civilians, including two women, and injured three others.

Rising toll since March

The latest casualties add to a growing toll from ‘Israel’ attacks on Lebanon.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that since March 2, at least 1,461 people have been killed and 4,430 wounded, with more than one million displaced.

The ‘Israel’ military said it targeted Hezbollah sites in Beirut, claiming they were used to plan attacks. Reports indicated that eight strikes hit Beirut’s southern suburbs since Sunday morning.

Hezbollah escalates attacks

In response, Hezbollah said it carried out 23 attacks on ‘Israel’ targets since early Sunday.

The group said it targeted military sites, infrastructure, and settlements including Nahariya and Metula, as well as troop and vehicle positions in northern ‘Israel’.

It also claimed launching a cruise missile at a naval vessel off the Lebanese coast. Israeli media reported the ship was British, not Israeli, but confirmed it sustained damage.

Sirens sounded repeatedly across northern ‘Israel’, while authorities acknowledged damage to a home in the Shomera settlement.

‘Israel’ vows intensified operations

‘Israel’ Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said operations against Hezbollah would intensify during a visit to Ras al-Naqoura near the Lebanese border. He claimed more than 1,000 Hezbollah fighters had been killed since the war began.

Calls for diplomacy

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called for negotiations with ‘Israel’, warning against a scenario similar to the Gaza Strip.

“Why not sit at the table and stop the tragedies?” he said, urging efforts to prevent further destruction in southern Lebanon.

What comes next

The escalating exchanges point to a widening front in the regional conflict, with continued cross-border strikes raising fears of broader confrontation in the coming days.
