The Arab League issued a strongly worded statement condemning continued Iranian attacks targeting civilian infrastructure in Kuwait.
The statement said the strikes hit vital facilities, including power generation and water desalination plants, causing significant material damage.
The League also denounced the shelling of the ministries complex and oil sector facilities in the Shuwaikh area, along with sites linked to the Kuwait National Petroleum Company and the Petrochemical Industries Company.
Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit described the targeting of civilian infrastructure as a reckless escalation against Gulf states, stressing that such actions cannot be justified under any circumstances.
He added that the attacks constitute a “fully-fledged crime” under international humanitarian law, holding the Iranian government fully responsible for the consequences.
The Arab League reaffirmed its full support for Kuwait, its leadership and people, in all measures taken to safeguard its security and stability.
