US sinks over 30 Iranian ships as missile and drone attacks sharply decline, says CENTCOM.
The United States has sunk more than 30 Iranian vessels during the ongoing conflict, while attacks by Tehran using ballistic missiles and drones have dropped significantly, a senior U.S. military official said Thursday.
Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), told reporters, “We have sunk over 30 ships so far, and in the past few hours, we struck an Iranian drone carrier roughly the size of a World War II aircraft carrier. It is now ablaze.”
Cooper added that ballistic missile attacks from Iran have decreased by 90 percent compared to the first day of the conflict, while drone strikes have fallen by 83 percent.
The admiral also emphasized that the U.S. is not only targeting Iranian missiles but is aiming to “destroy the industrial base for Iran’s ballistic missiles.”
He said, “As we move into the next phase of this operation, we will systematically dismantle Iran’s missile production capabilities to prevent future threats.”
