Azerbaijan said it is preparing retaliatory measures after two people were wounded Thursday in drone strikes that hit near an airport and close to a school, according to official statements from Baku.
The Azerbaijani defense ministry said the government would act to protect the country’s sovereignty and civilians following the incident.
"Azerbaijan is preparing the necessary retaliatory measures to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country and to ensure the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure," the ministry said in a statement.
"These acts of attack will not go unanswered," it added.

Iran’s armed forces denied responsibility for the drone strike. In a statement carried by state television, the Iranian military said it had not launched any drone toward Azerbaijan.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran denies its armed forces launched a drone toward the Republic of Azerbaijan," the general staff of the armed forces said.
The statement instead accused 'Israel' of attempting to undermine relations between Muslim countries, saying such actions aimed at disrupting ties in the region were not unprecedented.
The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions, though the source of the drone strike remains disputed.
