  • US police arrest dual ‘Israeli’-French national after discovering a secret biological lab in Las Vegas.
  • Authorities find dangerous virus samples; investigation widens to possible broader network.

US police in Las Vegas have arrested a man holding dual ‘Israeli’ and French citizenship after uncovering a secret “biological laboratory” containing samples of dangerous diseases and viruses hidden inside the garage of his home, according to American media reports.

Joint Raid Reveals Dangerous Materials

Las Vegas police, working alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), carried out a joint raid on the suspect’s residence, where they discovered hazardous biological materials stored inside a sealed garage.

Investigators said the seized samples included infectious and potentially lethal agents, among them coronavirus, HIV, malaria, and hepatitis. The discovery raised renewed concerns over illicit biological activities and public safety risks.

Suspect Identified, Charges Filed

The suspect was identified as Uri Solomon, 55, a property manager in Las Vegas who holds both ‘Israeli’ and French passports. He was taken into custody and transferred to the Clark County Detention Center.

Solomon faces state-level criminal charges related to the illegal disposal and handling of hazardous waste, according to court documents.

Weapons Found, Visa Violation

Court records indicate Solomon is present in the United States on a non-immigrant visa, which legally bars him from possessing firearms. Despite this, police found a black semi-automatic Glock handgun, two nine-millimeter rounds of ammunition, and a small lockbox inside the home.

The weapons were not seized at the time, as the search warrant did not authorize their confiscation.

Links to Broader Investigation

Investigators revealed that the homeowner where the biological materials were found is a Chinese national currently in federal custody. He is being held in connection with a similar biological lab case uncovered in California in 2023, pointing to a potentially wider network.

Despite the seriousness of the allegations, a court granted Solomon conditional release during his initial hearing, imposing a travel ban and restricting him from leaving the state without official permission.
