  • Abu Obaida denounced "undercover agents" operating under ‘Israeli’ protection, accusing them of betraying the Palestinian people by targeting civilians and exploited fighters during the ongoing siege.
  • He praised the Hamas fighters currently besieged in the tunnel networks of eastern Rafah, framing their refusal to surrender as a historic act of martyrdom and a symbol of national steadfastness.

The military spokesperson of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obaida, issued a series of statements on his Telegram channel condemning what he described as the actions of undercover collaborators and praising the Hamas fighters besieged in Rafah.

Accusations against undercover operatives

Abu Obaida said the actions carried out by what he referred to as “undercover agents” against Palestinians and resistance fighters reflected “full alignment with the occupation” and the execution of its agenda.

He claimed these individuals operate only in areas under the control of the ‘Israeli’ army and under the protection of its tanks, accusing them of targeting civilians and exploiting fighters weakened by hunger and siege.

“What they are doing is not courage,” he said, describing their actions as betrayal and an attempt to assert themselves.

In his remarks, Abu Obaida warned that those he accused of collaborating with ‘Israel’ would face what he called an inevitable fate, saying they would not be protected from what he described as the justice of the Palestinian people.

He added that ‘Israel’ would not be able to shield them from accountability.

Praise for Rafah fighters

Abu Obaida concluded by saluting Palestinian fighters besieged in the Rafah area, saying they rejected humiliation or surrender and chose martyrdom instead.

He said their story would be taught to future generations and that their names would be remembered “in the pages of glory,” portraying them as symbols of steadfastness under siege.

Context

Abu Obaida’s statements came as a significant number of Hamas fighters were isolated underground in tunnel networks beneath eastern Rafah, a situation that has been ongoing since the Gaza truce was brokered in October.

At the same time, investigations and media reports have accused locally based militias and armed gangs in Gaza of accepting ‘Israeli’ support or acting as proxies to undermine Hamas control, a charge that has inflamed accusations of collaboration inside the strip.
