Roya Media Group has announced the co-production of its first Egyptian comedy series, “El Souq El Horra,” in collaboration with Stars Media for Production and Distribution, led by producer Shreen Magdy. The project marks a strategic step in Roya’s expansion into Arabic drama production and its continued investment in original regional content.

Set inside a private international airport, the series presents intersecting stories of employees and travelers through light, fast-paced comedy. The narrative blends everyday human moments with social satire, offering a contemporary format that carries a distinctly Arab spirit with universal appeal.

The series is based on an original concept developed by The Creative Lab, Roya Media Group’s in-house content innovation unit, as part of the group’s approach to creating and exporting original Arabic intellectual property (IP) across regional production markets. Writing and script development were handled by an Egyptian creative team to ensure cultural authenticity while maintaining the overall creative vision of the project.

“El Souq El Horra” is written by Hisham Yehia and directed by Shady Ali.

The main cast includes Mohamed Radwan, Mohamed Tharwat, Wezo, Hala Fakher, Mahmoud El Leithy, Hossam Dagher, and Reem Raafat, who portray a range of characters working within the airport environment, each bringing a distinct comedic tone and perspective.

The series also features guest appearances by prominent figures from Egyptian and Arab comedy and drama, including Bayoumi Fouad, Edward, Mohammad Al Qass, Monther Rayahneh, Eman El Sayed, Mohamed Gomaa, Ismail Farghaly, Ali Kamalou, and Menna Allah Mohamed, adding variety and depth to individual episodes.

Consisting of 30 episodes, “El Souq El Horra” is scheduled to air during the holy month of Ramadan on Roya TV. The series forms part of Roya Media Group’s Ramadan programming slate, reinforcing the group’s positioning as a regional producer of high-quality, original Arabic entertainment for audiences in Jordan and across the Arab world.
