‘Israeli’ army appoints Captain Ella as Arabic spokesperson

The ‘Israeli’ army has officially appointed Major Ella Waweya, widely known as “Captain Ella,” as the new head of its Arabic-language media division. She will oversee communication with Arab audiences across multiple platforms, replacing Colonel Avichay Adraee, who served nearly two decades in the role.

Waweya, 36, will hold the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, making her the highest-ranking Muslim officer in ‘Israel’s’ military media. She joined the army in 2013 and has spent years in the spokesperson unit, most recently serving as deputy head of the Arabic media division.

Born in Qalansawe in northern ‘Israel’, Waweya is known for her active presence on social media, with a large following and notable engagement in sharing the army’s propaganda in Arabic.
