  • Deal aims to expand defense industry and strengthen military amid regional tensions.

'Israel' has finalized a $183 million multi-year contract to purchase air munitions from local defense firm Elbit Systems, the Ministry of Defense announced Tuesday.

The agreement, signed by Ministry Director General Amir Baram, is intended to expand 'Israel’s' defense industrial base and enhance military capabilities amid ongoing security challenges.

Baram said the contract is part of a series of multi-year force-building agreements across air and ground sectors. Defense Minister Yisrael Katz added that strengthening the local defense industry is a top national priority.

"Over two years of war on seven different fronts, 'Israel’s' defense industries have proven essential for operational superiority," Katz said, emphasizing the importance of domestic manufacturing, reliable supply, and sustainable force development.

The announcement comes amid heightened alert in 'Israel' over potential US military action against Iran, which could trigger retaliatory strikes on Tel Aviv. Washington has stated that all options, including military, remain on the table regarding Iran, while Tehran warns any attack will be "swift and comprehensive."
