  • Hundreds protest in Dublin against 'Israeli' violations in Gaza despite the ceasefire.
  • Demonstrators call for protection of civilians and stronger Irish government action.

Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets of Dublin on Saturday to protest 'Israeli' violations in the Gaza Strip, despite a ceasefire in effect since October 10.

Protesters carried Palestinian flags and banners reading slogans such as “Free Palestine”, demanding protection for civilians in Gaza and urging the Irish government to take serious measures in response to the humanitarian crisis.

Recent attacks

On Saturday, three Palestinians, including two children, were killed in 'Israeli' attacks on Gaza. Witnesses reported airstrikes by 'Israeli' jets and gunfire from military vehicles in southeastern Khan Yunis, within the limited control zone established by the ceasefire agreement.

Since the ceasefire, repeated 'Israeli' violations have killed 477 Palestinians and injured 1,301 others.

Humanitarian impact

The ceasefire followed a two-year genocidal war that began on October 8, 2023, which left over 71,000 Palestinians dead and more than 171,000 wounded. Approximately 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure was destroyed, with the United Nations estimating reconstruction costs at $70 billion.
