  • Jeffrey Epstein’s brother claims new forensic details to be released in February will prove Epstein was killed.
  • Official US investigations have repeatedly ruled Epstein’s 2019 death a suicide.

Mark Epstein, the brother of disgraced US financier Jeffrey Epstein, says new details set to be released in February will prove that his brother did not die by suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019, but was deliberately killed.

In an interview with NewsNation, Mark Epstein said: “Jeffrey was killed, and in February more facts from the autopsy results will come out to prove that.” He did not specify how or through whom the information would be made public.

Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Autopsy dispute resurfaces

Mark Epstein told the British newspaper The Independent that he personally viewed his brother’s body and said the injuries he observed were “completely inconsistent” with death by hanging, the position in which the body was reportedly found.

His claims rely in part on the opinion of Dr. Michael Baden, a former New York City medical examiner who was consulted by the family at the time. In 2019, Baden said the evidence “pointed toward homicide rather than suicide,” according to The Independent.

The renewed assertions come as speculation continues that Epstein was “eliminated” to protect powerful figures allegedly connected to his social and political network.

Official findings unchanged

Despite persistent public doubts, US authorities have maintained that Epstein died by suicide. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice reviewed the case again last year and reaffirmed the same conclusion reached in a 2023 review.

However, Mark Epstein rejects those findings outright. “There are only three ways to die in prison: suicide, natural causes, or murder,” he said. “Jeff was murdered.”

Political sensitivity and unanswered questions

The renewed claims emerge amid accusations that the White House has sought to shield the full Epstein files from public release, given Epstein’s past associations with prominent global figures, including President Donald Trump.

Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate who was later convicted for her role in his crimes, has also expressed skepticism that Epstein took his own life, according to The Independent.

Mark Epstein said his goal is accountability. “I want to know who killed my brother,” he said, “and who they were working for.”
