US designates three Middle East Muslim Brotherhood branches as terrorist

The administration of President Donald Trump has designated three branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East as terrorist organizations, imposing sanctions on the groups and their members.

The US Treasury and State Departments said the measures target the Lebanese, Jordanian, and Egyptian branches, citing their alleged threat to the United States and American interests.

Officials stated that the designation aims to disrupt the groups’ financial networks and reduce their influence in the region, underscoring Washington’s commitment to countering organizations it considers linked to extremist activities.
