Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General Naim Qassem said the party will work with the Lebanese state and army to expel 'Israel' and support reconstruction efforts.

Speaking during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Qassem said Hezbollah aims to stop ongoing aggression, secure the release of political prisoners, and assist in rebuilding the state.

Iran promises economic cooperation

Minister Araghchi said Iran seeks to strengthen ties with Lebanon. He brought an economic delegation on his visit to expand cooperation across multiple sectors.

Lebanese army progress

Separately, the Lebanese army announced on Thursday that it had achieved the “objectives of the first phase” of its plan to consolidate weapons under state control and disarm Hezbollah, particularly in the area south of the Litani River, in line with a cabinet decision issued on August 5, 2025.
