Medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported new child casualties on Tuesday evening amid escalating field developments.

A senior source at Al Shifa Hospital said a young girl was martyred after being shot by forces of the ‘Israeli’ army in the Al Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City. The source noted that the shooting occurred outside the areas of deployment of those forces, pointing to the continued use of sniper fire and direct targeting of civilians.

Displacement tragedy in Mawasi Rafah

In a separate incident in the south of the Strip, a source in the Ambulance and Emergency Department reported the martyrdom of another child and injuries to several civilians after a wall collapsed onto a displacement tent in the Mawasi area of Rafah.

The area is overcrowded with thousands of families who fled there in search of safety. The incident highlighted the dire living conditions facing displaced people, as temporary shelters lack even the most basic safety standards.

Ongoing violations of the truce

These deadly developments come as violations of the ceasefire agreement continue, despite expectations that it would offer protection to civilians.

Since October 10, 2025, observers have documented daily violations by the ‘Israeli’ army, including airstrikes and ground and naval operations. The violations have also involved systematic destruction of homes and civilian property, as well as deliberate gunfire directed at gatherings of displaced people.

Humanitarian repercussions

Local and international officials have warned that the continuation of these violations undermines fragile stability and deepens the suffering of Gaza’s besieged population.

The killing of children and the targeting of displacement areas place additional strain on an already exhausted health system and raise renewed calls on the international community to ensure compliance with the truce and protect the most vulnerable. With each new violation, hopes for a return to normal life grow increasingly remote for Gaza’s residents.
