The United States Department of Defense has awarded Boeing an $8.6 billion contract to support the F-15 ‘Israel’ Program.
This agreement encompasses the design, integration, instrumentation, testing, production, and delivery of 25 new F-15IA aircraft for the ‘Israeli’ Air Force, with an option to procure an additional 25 units.
The announcement was made following a meeting between US President Donald Trump and ‘Israeli’ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago in Florida on Monday.
The F-15IA represents an advanced ‘Israeli’ variant of the F-15EX fighter jet, incorporating cutting-edge technologies to enhance performance and efficiency.
Upgrades include more fuel-efficient engines, fly-by-wire avionics that reduce operating costs by approximately 25 percent, and advanced sensors and displays for improved mission execution.
The aircraft features wings with additional outboard stations capable of carrying up to 13,380 kilograms of weaponry, enabling simultaneous engagement of multiple targets across air-to-air, air-to-ground, and air-to-maritime operations.
Further enhancements to the F-15IA include an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, recognized as one of the most sophisticated systems available, alongside an advanced cockpit providing comprehensive situational awareness through a digital helmet display and a large touch-screen interface.
Production and related work will primarily occur in St. Louis, Missouri, with completion anticipated by December 31, 2035.
Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2031, with batches of four to six aircraft per year.
This contract builds on a prior $5.2 billion agreement signed by ‘Israel’ in November 2025 for an initial 25 F-15IA jets, potentially expanding the fleet to 50 new aircraft in addition to the 66 existing F-15 variants in service.
