Washington concern

US officials believe Netanyahu’s handling of the Gaza file is undermining American efforts to advance the next stage of the agreement. Senior figures in the White House reportedly see his approach as evasive and counterproductive, according to the report.

Channel 12 said officials in Washington are increasingly concerned that the delays could jeopardize the entire ceasefire framework.

Trump meeting seen as decisive

The channel reported that the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and Netanyahu, scheduled for Monday, is expected to be decisive for the future of the Gaza ceasefire and the implementation of its second phase.

US sources said Trump is preparing, during the first half of next month, to announce the formation of a Peace Council, a Palestinian technical administration, and an international stabilization force in Gaza.

Officials added that the Trump–Netanyahu meeting could determine the fate of both the broader peace plan and the second phase of the Gaza agreement.

Internal US–‘Israeli’ differences

US officials acknowledged significant differences in views between Netanyahu and Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, as well as Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law.

Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu has voiced skepticism toward the ideas put forward by Witkoff and Kushner, particularly regarding the disarmament of Gaza.

He is also said to doubt the feasibility of US plans for the second phase of the agreement.

Regional coordination

Witkoff and Kushner are working closely with Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey to finalize outstanding arrangements and lay the groundwork for the second phase of the Gaza agreement, despite resistance from Netanyahu’s office, according to the same report.
