The Syrian Interior Ministry reported that specialized security units, in coordination with the General Intelligence Directorate, carried out a targeted operation in Aleppo against a Daesh-affiliated terrorist cell.

Colonel Mohammad Abdul Ghani, head of Aleppo’s internal security, said the operation followed precise surveillance and monitoring of the cell over a period of time, allowing forces to intervene at the optimal moment and thwart the group’s plans.

Arrests and seizure of weapons

The raid resulted in the dismantling of the cell, with three members arrested. Authorities seized significant quantities of weapons and ammunition, as well as materials intended for use in terrorist acts aimed at destabilizing public security across the province. All seized items were transferred to security headquarters for further legal proceedings.

Ongoing anti-terror efforts

The Interior Ministry emphasized that the operation is part of a series of precise security actions designed to track and neutralize sleeper cells, disrupt terrorist networks, and eliminate their operational capabilities. Coordination between internal security units and the General Intelligence Directorate ensured civilian safety and protection of property during the raids.

Legal follow-up

Following their arrest, the suspects were referred to the competent judicial authorities for investigation, with the goal of imposing strict legal penalties according to Syrian law.

Authorities said the operation demonstrates the readiness of Syrian security forces to respond to terrorist threats and highlights their commitment to maintaining public safety in Aleppo and across Syria.
