Low-pressure system to affect Jordan from Monday evening

Jordan’s Meteorological Department announced that the Kingdom will experience cold weather over the next four days, as a low-pressure system begins affecting the country from Monday evening.

The department said the system will bring rainfall to several regions, along with warnings of fog, reduced horizontal visibility, and the possibility of flash floods.

On Sunday, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy and relatively cold across most areas, while remaining mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. During the evening hours, there is a slight chance of light, scattered rain showers over parts of the southwestern highlands.

Warning: Reduced horizontal visibility due to fog formation over mountainous areas and parts of the Badia and plains.

Low-Pressure System and Flood Risk

On Monday, relatively cold conditions will prevail during the day with low clouds appearing. By the evening, the Kingdom will be affected by a low-pressure system, leading to increased cloud cover and rain showers over northern and central regions, as well as parts of the southwestern areas. Rain may later extend to some eastern regions.

At night, the weather will be cold and cloudy, with intermittent rainfall that may be heavy at times, particularly in central and southwestern areas, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms.

Tuesday Outlook
Temperatures will drop slightly on Tuesday, with cold and cloudy conditions continuing. Rain is expected intermittently across most regions, with occasional heavy showers in some areas.

Wednesday: Rain Chances Weaken

A slight further drop in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, with cold and partly to mostly cloudy conditions. There remains a chance of scattered rain showers, particularly in southern and eastern regions, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms. Rain chances are expected to weaken by the evening.
