  • Iyah May releases a protest song accusing Benjamin Netanyahu and 'Israel' of genocidal crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Australian singer-songwriter Iyah May has released a new protest song that sharply denounces 'Israel’s' war on the Gaza Strip, explicitly calling out Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and accusing 'Israel' of committing ethnic cleansing.

The song’s most pointed verses confront Netanyahu by name and condemn the killing of civilians, including children.

- Calling out Netanyahu by name -

In one of the song’s most striking passages, Iyah May addresses Netanyahu directly, rapping, “Cleanse a country kill the children / Mr Bibi, How do you sleep.” The line frames 'Israel’s' military campaign as ethnic cleansing and places personal responsibility on 'Israel’s' leadership.

Another lyric declares, “Bombs drop from heaven just like hail / Dragged your own through the mud well done Israel,” reinforcing accusations of mass violence and collective punishment in Gaza, where thousands of Palestinians have been killed.

The track ranges across broader themes of power, surveillance, and global elites, arguing that war, technology, and political silence work together to normalize violence.

- Industry silence -

In a statement shared on Instagram alongside the music video teaser, Iyah May credited her audience for the song’s growing reach, saying she has received “zero support from the industry” since she began speaking out.

“From someone who’s had zero support from the industry since I started speaking out, this has very much been a fan-driven movement,” she said, thanking listeners for the traction and backing they have provided.

"I've given up my music contracts to sing these lyrics. I hope this message gets out there," she added.

Iyah May emphasized the role of creativity as a form of resistance and survival, writing that “music and art are a powerful and very much needed medium.”
