  • U.S. special envoy to meet Zelensky and European leaders in Berlin this weekend to advance Ukraine peace talks.

U.S. special envoy will travel to Berlin this weekend for high‑level meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and key European leaders, part of Washington’s intensified push to advance peace negotiations aimed at ending the war with Russia.

According to U.S. officials, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, accompanied by Jared Kushner, is scheduled to meet with Zelensky and counterparts from France, the United Kingdom and Germany on Sunday and Monday, underscoring the urgency in narrowing differences over a U.S.‑backed peace proposal.

The discussions come as part of broader diplomatic efforts to reconcile disagreements between Kyiv and Washington regarding the terms of a peace deal, including Ukraine’s territorial positions and security guarantees. French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz are also expected to take part in talks.

U.S. officials have signaled that President Donald Trump would only send a senior representative if there was a clear prospect for productive progress on peace negotiations, a sign of the administration’s desire to push forward before the end of the year.

Ukrainian officials say discussions will focus on a plan with multiple components, including peace terms, security guarantees, and reconstruction support, although some aspects remain contentious, particularly around territorial concessions Kyiv has resisted.

The Berlin meetings mark a critical diplomatic moment as efforts continue to build consensus among Ukraine’s Western partners on how to pursue an end to the conflict while safeguarding Kyiv’s core security and territorial integrity.
