Four family members die from gas heater leak in Zarqa, Jordan

The Public Security Directorate confirmed the deaths of four members of the same family on Thursday evening after they suffered fatal asphyxiation caused by a gas heater leak in their home in the Hashimiyah area of Zarqa Governorate.
Those who passed away in the incident were: Mondher Mamdouh Al-Najjar, his wife (Um Mohammad), their son Mohammad Mondher Al-Najjar, and their son Issa Mondher Al-Najjar.
The directorate’s media spokesperson said the four victims experienced severe respiratory distress. Paramedics from the Zarqa Civil Defense Department transported the bodies to Zarqa Governmental Hospital.
Following the tragic incident, Public Security renewed its urgent warning on the importance of adhering to safety measures when using heating appliances. Authorities stressed the need to regularly inspect gas hoses and leak preventers, ensure proper ventilation, and avoid leaving heaters running during sleep to prevent similar tragedies.
