'Israeli' warplanes on Sunday escalated their aerial attacks on the southern areas of the Gaza Strip, launching a series of concentrated strikes that hit deep inside the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis.

Inferno in Western Rafah

Field sources reported that the warplanes carried out a series of consecutive and intense airstrikes focused on the western parts of Rafah.

The heavy bombardment triggered massive explosions that shook the city, sparking panic among residents, particularly in areas densely populated by displaced families.

Witnesses described the scene as “a real inferno,” noting that the repeated strikes made it difficult for emergency crews to reach the targeted locations due to the ongoing shelling.

Expanding the Fire Zone: Khan Younis

Simultaneously with the attacks on Rafah, the 'Israeli' military expanded its strike zone in southern Gaza. An air raid targeted the eastern areas of Khan Younis, adding to a series of recent attacks on the city.

There were no immediate reports on casualties or the extent of material damage, while 'Israeli' aircraft continued to fly heavily over the region.
