'Israeli' forces launch new ground incursion into Syria's Quneitra

The 'Israeli' army carried out a fresh ground incursion on Friday into the Syrian village of Saida al-Hanout, located in the southern Quneitra countryside, amid ongoing violations of Syria’s sovereignty, Syrian state media reported.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), six 'Israeli' vehicles, including three Humvees, two white Hilux trucks, and a black van, advanced toward the village. The day before, an 'Israeli' patrol consisting of three vehicles entered the towns of Samdaniya al-Sharqiya and al-Ajraf in northern Quneitra.

During the operations, 'Israeli' forces reportedly established a temporary military checkpoint between the towns near a demolished water tank. Artillery shelling was also reported on the outskirts of Koya town in the western Daraa countryside in southwestern Syria. No details on casualties were immediately available.

There has been no official comment from either the 'Israeli' army or Syrian authorities regarding the reports.

Syrian government records indicate that since December 2024, 'Israel' has conducted more than 1,000 airstrikes and over 400 cross-border raids in southern Syrian provinces.

Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in late 2024, 'Israel' reportedly expanded its control over the Golan Heights, seizing the demilitarized buffer zone in violation of the 1974 agreement with Syria.
