  • Jordan says the King’s Asian tour has created major new economic and investment openings.
  • Momani stresses the global shift toward recognizing a Palestinian state.
  • He describes 'Israeli' ministers’ rhetoric as “political squawking” reflecting internal crises.

Jordan’s Minister of Government Communication, Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, says that King Abdullah II’s recent diplomatic tour across Asia has positioned the Kingdom for “unprecedented economic and investment opportunities,” underscoring what he described as a decisive moment for Jordan’s global partnerships.

Speaking to Roya, Momani said the outcomes of the royal tour were far-reaching. He emphasized that Jordan is uniquely able to “capitalize on the great respect His Majesty the King enjoys globally,” a reputation that he believes consistently translates into concrete economic benefits and new avenues for cooperation.

According to Momani, the King’s meetings with senior officials and economic leaders in several Asian nations opened fresh channels for trade and investment, enabling the government to present Jordan’s competitive sectors and long-term modernization plans. He noted that the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) remains “the strategic framework for growth, increasing exports, and attracting investment.”

The minister added that the world’s increasing confidence in Jordan’s leadership has sparked “promising economic partnerships,” describing the tour as a “powerful lever for the national economy.”

- Economic signals of recovery -

Momani linked the momentum generated by these diplomatic efforts to recent government actions, such as lowering customs duties to support local industries. He said early indicators are showing positive movement in multiple sectors, citing growth in tourism, stronger foreign currency reserves, higher national exports, and improved economic performance despite regional instability.

- Firm stance on Gaza and regional politics -

Turning to the situation in Gaza, Momani reaffirmed Jordan’s unwavering position, saying the Kingdom continues to condemn 'Israel’s' obstruction of humanitarian aid. He described the closure of crossing points to Jordanian relief trucks as a “reprehensible act” that deepens the suffering in the besieged enclave.

He also rebuked recent remarks from 'Israeli' ministers, calling them “political squawking” coming from “a crisis-ridden, extremist government.” Their comments, he added, amount to “hate speech” intended to distract from internal turmoil, rhetoric Jordan rejects outright.

Momani stressed there can be no path to regional stability without addressing the Palestinian issue. “There is no solution in the Middle East without a Palestinian state and an end to Israeli hate speech,” he said, reiterating that global consensus around the two-state solution continues to grow.

He noted that “recognition of the Palestinian state is rapidly increasing,” adding that granting Palestinians their rights, including self-determination in the West Bank, is “something that will happen, sooner or later.”
