  • The national service program will use a computerized draw to select 6,000 young men annually, ensuring a fair and transparent process without favoritism.

Jordan’s Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson, Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, confirmed that the names of the first batch of conscripts for the upcoming year’s national service will be announced soon, after the law completes all its constitutional stages.

The announcement follows Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II’s statement last August on reactivating the national service program, describing it as a national initiative to train and prepare youth through military training and a theoretical curriculum.

Momani emphasized that the selection process will be conducted through a neutral statistical draw, using computerized mechanisms and scientific criteria, in line with the Crown Prince’s instructions to apply the highest standards of transparency without exceptions.

Under the plan previously announced:

  • Eligible group: Jordanian males born in 2007 who will turn 18 by Jan. 1, 2026.
  • Annual numbers: 6,000 youth will be selected each year.
  • Phases of call-up: The total will be divided into three phases, with 2,000 youth in each phase.

Momani stressed that the government is moving forward with implementing the law in an organized and fair manner. He added that the computerized lottery system ensures there is no favoritism or influence in selecting participants, supporting the program’s national goal of preparing a capable and qualified generation.
