Jordan has sent another round of humanitarian aid to Syria, continuing its efforts to assist those affected by the country’s worsening humanitarian situation.
The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), working alongside the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs and the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, dispatched a convoy of 16 trucks on Sunday, carrying much-needed shelter units and medical supplies to the Syrian Arab Republic.
According to JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli, the shipment includes prefabricated homes ready for immediate use, providing safe housing for families displaced by recent violence, along with essential medicines and healthcare materials.
“The convoy, comprising 16 trucks loaded with prefabricated homes ready for immediate use to provide safe shelter for families who have lost their homes, and medical supplies and medicines to address urgent health needs in several areas,” Shibli said, noting that this aid comes as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian commitment to the Syrian people.
The assistance was organized in collaboration with the Helping Hand Organization, MedGlobal, and Hikma Pharmaceuticals Jordan. Distribution will be handled by the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in Suwayda Governorate and in shelters for displaced families in Daraa, areas that have been severely affected by recent events.
This latest convoy follows a similar humanitarian initiative in September, when Jordan and Qatar jointly sent aid to support Syrian civilians in the aftermath of violence in Suwayda.
