Iran strongly denounced 'Israeli' attacks on Lebanon on Friday, describing them as “savage” strikes against targets linked to Hezbollah.

In a statement, the Iranian foreign ministry called on “the United Nations, the international community and regional countries to confront the warmongering” of 'Israel', offering “condolences on the martyrdom of Lebanese citizens during the savage attacks.”

The strikes, carried out by 'Israel' on Thursday, targeted Hezbollah strongholds in southern Lebanon. 'Israel' stated that the operations were intended to prevent the group from rearming following significant losses, including the death of its leader Hassan Nasrallah last year.

Although 'Israel' and Lebanon signed a ceasefire in November 2024 to end more than a year of hostilities, 'Israel' maintains the right to target Hezbollah positions it views as a threat. The Lebanese health ministry reported that one person was killed in Thursday’s bombardments.
