  • The ‘Israeli’ army warned residents of Taybeh and Tayr Debba in southern Lebanon to evacuate ahead of planned strikes targeting alleged Hezbollah infrastructure.

One person was killed and three others were injured in a new ‘Israeli’ airstrike in southern Lebanon on Thursday, marking the latest violation of the ceasefire agreement, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

A ministry statement confirmed that the casualties occurred in an attack targeting the Tyre district. The state news agency NNA reported that 'Israeli' fighter jets struck an area between the towns of Toura and Aabbasiyyeh, causing panic among students in nearby schools.

The ‘Israeli’ army claimed the strikes targeted Hezbollah operators at an infrastructure site in the area. Col. Avichay Adraee, the army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, said, “The IDF will attack military infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah terror organization throughout southern Lebanon, in response to its prohibited attempts to rebuild its activities in the area.”

Evacuation warnings prior to airstrikes in Lebanon have been relatively rare since the November 2024 ceasefire. The last such alert was issued on September 18 ahead of similar strikes in southern Lebanon.

'Israeli' media reported early Thursday that Tel Aviv is preparing for another possible round of fighting with Hezbollah, heightening concerns over the stability of the current ceasefire.
