- The closure will run from 7 AM to 2 PM, with traffic from the Fourth Circle being diverted
The Central Traffic Department announced a temporary closure of the entirety of Abdoun Bridge, effective Friday morning.
The closure will begin at 7 AM and continue until 2 PM the same day; to allow maintenance teams to work on the bridge, according to the statement.
Planned Traffic Detours
The department specified planned traffic reroutes, noting that the roadway leading to the bridge from the Fourth Circle will see a complete stoppage of vehicle movement.
Traffic heading from the Fourth Circle will be diverted to turn left onto Ibrahim Ayyub Street. Drivers should continue on this route until reaching the Uqba bin Nafi traffic light, then turn toward the Abdoun Circle via Mohammad Ali Badeer Street as an alternative path.
The department urged drivers to exercise caution and prudence while driving in the area around the bridge during the closure period.
“Motorists are strictly required to adhere to the instructions of traffic police officers deployed at the site to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and public safety,” the statement concluded.
