- ‘Israeli’ far-right lawmaker Limor Son Har-Melech defended her proposed death penalty bill for "terrorists" but claimed that "there's no such thing as a Jewish terrorist."
- She also criticized the military advocate general over the leak of abuse footage from the Sde Teiman detention facility
‘Israeli’ Knesset member Limor Son Har-Melech, a far-right lawmaker from the Otzma Yehudit party, staunchly defended her proposed bill to impose the death penalty on what she claims are "terrorists", adding she believes "there's no such thing as a Jewish terrorist."
Son Har-Melech, who introduced the legislation with the backing of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasized that the law would apply solely to individuals who "harm the State of Israel."
When pressed on whether it would extend to Jewish perpetrators of violence, she reiterated, "If there are such Jews, then yes. But there’s no such thing as a Jewish terrorist."
She argued that executing convicted terrorists would prevent their return to violence, stating, "A dead terrorist is a terrorist who won’t return to the cycle of terror."
In 2023, she referred to Amiram Ben-Uliel – an ‘Israeli’ settler convicted of the 2015 arson attack that killed three members of the Palestinian Dawabsheh family, including an 18-month-old toddler – as a "holy righteous man."
Ben-Uliel was sentenced to three life terms for murder, arson, and attempted murder in what was widely condemned as a hate crime.
The attack in the village of Duma involved firebombing the family's home, leaving only a four-year-old survivor.
The lawmaker also weighed in on a separate military scandal involving abuse at the Sde Teiman detention facility, a site used to hold Palestinian detainees from Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.
Sde Teiman
In July 2024, a leaked video showed ‘Israeli’ soldiers sexually assaulting a detainee, leading to indictments against five reservists in February 2025 for severe abuse, including causing cracked ribs and other injuries.
Son Har-Melech sharply criticized Military Advocate General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, whose detention was extended amid an investigation into the leak.
She accused Tomer-Yerushalmi of portraying ‘Israeli’ soldiers as "rapists and immoral," claiming the footage did not show the violence and that the general had "framed" the troops.
Gaza peace plan
Son Har-Melech expressed strong opposition to a US-proposed international stabilization force for Gaza, recently submitted to the UN Security Council by the Trump administration.
The draft resolution calls for a multinational force to maintain security and demilitarization in Gaza for at least two years, as part of Donald Trump's broader 20-point peace plan.
While acknowledging differences with Trump, whom she did not celebrate during his visit, Son Har-Melech warned that such a force threatens ‘Israeli’ sovereignty: "The entire effort is about controlling us and our actions, and unfortunately, we’ve allowed it."
She advocated for the "emigration" of Palestinians from Gaza, framing it as an "us or them" scenario.
