  • Iran approved a new state-run international TV network that will broadcast entirely in Hebrew, aiming to counter ‘Israeli’ media "propaganda."
  • The new station is part of Iran's strategy to expand its information warfare and target Hebrew speakers globally.

Iran approved the establishment of a new international television network that will broadcast entirely in Hebrew, escalating the long-running media conflict with ‘Israel’.

The decision was ratified by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, acting as chairman of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, and is integrated into a broad package of national policies.

The network’s government-mandated objective is to "respond to the media propaganda of the Zionist regime and its affiliates".

The new station will operate under the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

The timing of the announcement is significant, coming as part of a post-conflict policy review aimed at promoting "social resilience" following the direct military confrontations – the "12-day war" in June 2025.

New Front in Information Warfare

The launch of a full television network represents an expansion of Iran’s existing soft power strategy.

This is not Tehran’s first attempt at direct outreach; in 2022, the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency launched a Hebrew-language website.

At the time, Tasnim CEO Majid Qolizadeh stated the goal was to provide "true and authentic news" to Hebrew speakers and counter "massive and systematic censorship" regarding Palestine.

Experts suggest the new channel’s content will focus on exploiting internal political and social divisions within ‘Israel’.

Past Iranian influence operations have been observed to use Hebrew-language platforms to plant critical messaging against the government, frequently calling for the removal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The stated audience includes "everybody speaking Hebrew in the world".
